Check out a few of the pics from our Welcome Back Picnic, held after Services on Sunday, September 15, 2024. Good people, good food, and good games! Thanks to all who provided, cooked, set up, and cleaned up afterward!

“Heigh ho, heigh ho, it’s off to work we go!”

In addition to the ongoing work of running Church of the Epiphany, the crew has been busy repairing and improving our building and equipment! Father Lou and Bob S. from Christ Episcopal Church, Pottstown, completely reframed the stained glass window on the top floor and remounted it behind a new double-hung window to protect it from the elements. Thanks to you both!

Meanwhile, Jonathan B. applied for and received a grant from the Diocese of Pennsylvania (DIOPA) to upgrade the church’s audio/video equipment. Besides the funding, Cameron D. at DIOPA’s Media Center, along with Liam R., provided guidance on what equipment would meet Epiphany’s needs and then helped install it and show us how to run it. Our services as streamed on YouTube never looked better! Thanks, Cameron and Liam!

Hot on the heels of Lou’s Ordination on Saturday, May 18, 2024, he crossed two milestones: His first service as a priest, and his first baptism as a priest. He LOVES baptisms, which made this service all the more special! Lou welcomed ElizabethH into the family of Christ, with her parents, God parents, and other family and friends and the congregation in attendance.

May 18, 2024, was a big day in the life of Church of the Epiphany, as our Deacon Louis Steffenhagen was ordained a priest by The Rt. Reverend Daniel G. P. Gutiérrez, XVI Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Pennsylvania. Father Lou began his clerical journey in 2016 when he began work along the path to the clergy, being ordained a Deacon in 2018. Soon afterward, though, he felt a call to continue his journey by working toward becoming a Priest. Today, he reached his goal!

Wow, what a difference some greenery makes! On Sunday, December 17, 2023, the parishioners of Church of the Epiphany, both adult and youth, all lent a hand after the morning service to “Greening the Church” for Christmas! And what a difference it made! Poinsettias arrived and were placed on Saturday (thanks Sherri and Deacon Lou!), and then Sunday brought the Christmas tree with lights and ornaments, as well as wreaths for the windows! We’re ready for Christmas!

On Sunday, December 10, 2023, the Youth Group held their Christmas Party and Cookie Bake! Five of Epiphany’s youth and two moms attended the event and had fun baking (and eating!) cookies, plus dancing up a storm! Thanks to Miss Liz for organizing and hosting!

The Ladies of Epiphany held their Christmas Luncheon on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 12:00 noon in the Parish Hall. Twenty-four ladies attended (plus Deacon Lou!) and had an awesome time, with laughing, reminiscing, and food - Yes, LOTS of food!

On Sunday, October 15, 2023, Church of the Epiphany was pleased to welcome our youngest member into the fellowship of Christ! Six-month-old Devin, accompanied by his parents Mark and Katie, his Godparents, and numerous family and friends, received the Sacrament of Baptism from Rev. Louis Steffenhagen, Sr. As you can see from the smiles in the photos below, all were overjoyed to have the first baptism in our new location!

On Thursday, October 3, 2023, the Valley Forge Deanery honored Epiphany by holding its quarterly plenary meeting at our church. The Deanery is a group of 12 Episcopal parishes in the Valley Forge area, led by its Dean, The Very Rev. Samuel K. Ndung'u from St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Phoenixville. It is one of 10 geographic communities of congregations in the Episcopal Diocese of Pennsylvania. The plenary meeting consists of both clergy and laity from the member churches and involves discussion and sharing of progress, challenges, and ideas among the 12 churches.

The event began with a communion service in the sanctuary followed by refreshments and discussion in the parish hall downstairs. All left full, both spiritually and physically!

On Sunday, September 10, 2023, we held our Welcome Back Sunday picnic, welcoming our parishioners and guests back from all their summer adventures! The day was rainy, which “dampened” our plans for outdoor games, but a cheerful family spirit prevailed in our parish hall as seen in the pics below. Thanks to everyone who provided the delicious, and copious, selection of food.

On Sunday, June 18, 2023, Father’s Day, we held our first “Mass on the Grass”! The day was beautiful, being sunny and warm, and the service was beautiful, too!

Our Epiphany family bid “farewell” (sort of!) to our long-time Music Director, Mary Campbell, as she heads into a “soft retirement”! Don’t worry, though – She’ll still be playing at Epiphany a few times a month as a supply pianist.
